Get a profound understanding for what is called “Registers”<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cWhich register am I in right now?\u201d
\n\u201cIs this chest voice, head voice… or something else?\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n

Questions like these arise often in voice lessons \u2014 and the answers aren\u2019t always clear.
\nVocal registers are among the most debated topics in voice pedagogy. Different schools, traditions, and teachers define and explain them in very different ways. Even voice science has not reached a full consensus.<\/p>\n

In this workshop, we\u2019ll explore current scientific perspectives on vocal registers, drawing on both physiology and acoustics. We\u2019ll clarify the concepts of laryngeal mechanisms and phonation types, and explain how vocal fold mass and adduction interact in register shifts. You’ll learn how to recognize different vibratory patterns and what they mean for sound, effort, efficiency, and style.<\/p>\n

With a multi-parametric approach and lots of practical examples, we\u2019ll connect theory to real-life singing and speaking \u2014 with a focus on vocal health, function, and artistic expression.<\/p>\n

\nMauro is a Brazilian voice teacher and researcher currently completing his PhD in Singing Voice Education at UNED in Madrid, with research stays at KTH (Sweden). He holds degrees in Music Education and Speech Pathology, and teaches in postgraduate voice programs across Latin America and Europe. He is a frequent speaker at international voice conferences and the pedagogical coordinator of the Voice Education Institute (IFV\/Brazil). Mauro brings together deep scientific insight, pedagogical clarity, and an inclusive, practice-based teaching style.<\/p>\n
